This pivotal role contributes to the overall smooth operation of the sprawling site and is a critical support to all functions. Providing strength in your international shipment experience, leadership of a team of 2 direct reports and exemplary morale and energy, you will promote cohesion and efficiency in a deadline driven environment.
Scope Reporting to the Director, key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Managing, leading and mentoring a small operations team across import / export / sea + airfreight;
- Coordinating the operational requirements for all import/export shipments while working closely with a plethora of key stakeholders + managing bookings, allocations and quotes;
- Monitoring the performance of all suppliers including shipping lines, airlines, vendors + overseas agents;
- Management and maintenance of primary logistics software being CARGOWISE, in conjunction with Onestop and Edisoft;
- Auditing of systems and functions and preparation for external audits ensuring compliance with legislative requirements;
- Assistance in the development of charging structures and negotiation with service providers;
- Performing the role of 2IC in directors absence.

- Senior import and export shipment management (essential);
- Familiarity with Cargowise (essential);
- Ability to effectively lead and collaborate across multiple functions;
- Comfortability managing high volume shipments in a relationship centric environment;
- Ability to be on call weekends to facilitate seamless shipments.
Ideally you will be a strategic thinker, operating comfortably in pressurized, time sensitive environments and possess a strong focus on stakeholder management. Additionally, solid analytical skills, attention to detail and a unique ability to manage and build relationships to ensure shipments arrive on time and in full is paramount.
