The Company:
Our client is a well-established international freight forwarder known for their commitment to service excellence and a strong, team-focused culture. Due to an internal promotion, they are seeking a vibrant, experienced, and driven Import Sea Freight Operator to join their import team.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for managing end-to-end import sea freight shipments, including coordinating cartage. As a key liaison between shipping lines, transport operators, customs brokers, and clients, you’ll ensure seamless delivery and high-quality service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full sea freight import operations from vessel arrival to final delivery
- Liaise with shipping lines, overseas agents, and internal teams
- Prepare and lodge key documentation (arrival notices, bills of lading, customs entries)
- Track and monitor shipments, resolving delays proactively
- Ensure compliance with Australian customs and quarantine regulations
- Coordinate local cartage and deliveries with transport providers
- Maintain accurate records and manage invoicing
- Provide timely updates to clients and manage expectations
To be considered you will need: - Minimum 2 years' experience in sea freight import operations, including cartage coordination
- Strong working knowledge of CargoWise
- Excellent attention to detail and time management
- Confident communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
