A 100% Australian owned and operated company, Eco Growth International has been manufacturing premium specialised granular and liquid fertilisers for over 20 years. With two manufacturing facilities, a Western Australian head office and it’s primary manufacturing site located in Queensland, Eco Growth seeks to appoint a GM across their Queensland operation.
SCOPE:Leading the operation to deliver biologically activated natural fertiliser, tailoring nutritionally balanced, biologically available fertiliser solutions and a wide range of products, including individually customised liquid and granular fertiliser blends to customers, you will concurrently continue to fortify strong links with the Australian agricultural community and your appetite to continue to nurture networks, affiliations and longstanding partnerships, will be central to the business’ continued success.
Simply put, the General Manager will provide strategic leadership and overall management of both Eco Growth’s current site and impending new build, breaking ground in 2025. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence across the board, driving financial growth, and carving out a sustainable competitive advantage in the marketplace.
Significant responsibility stands in overseeing all operational and financial facets from production to the distribution of finished product, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, as well as P&L accountability. Additionally, you will:
- Possess the aptitude to grow market share- Accountable for developing, executing, and reporting on growth strategies and translating strategic goals into actionable plans for performance and growth;
- Have familiarity working in result focused, outcome driven environments– With a comfortability comprehending complex markets and interpreting data to improve individual or business capability, alongside the ability to instinctively harness key metrics and conceptualise, you will ultimately move teams toward achieving agreed business outcomes with a focus on quality + safety;
- Ensure overall compliance - Across all relevant legislation and policies pursuant to industry, coupled with contractual Service Level Agreement stipulations and governing processes and regulation. You will be ultimately accountable for compliance including continuous improvement holistically;
- Provide exemplary project management skills –Seeing complex projects through in time and on budget;
- Passion to cultivate a high performing team, creating buy in laterally and vertically – A down to earth leader, you work to maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally, including customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Acute financial Management - Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, cost and financial plans, you will monitor financial performance, analyse variances and implement corrective actions as required.
SUCCESS PROFILE With a natural inclination towards the tone of this career opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- 5+ years senior or executive management experience in the agricultural or manufacturing industries;
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Agriculture or related fields (advanced degrees or MBA advantageous though not essential);
- Ability to organically foster relationships across the organisation and externally at all levels, with high approachability;
- Ability to provide appropriate referees that will attest to your ability to develop fit for purpose strategies, exemplary interpersonal skills, meticulous attention to detail and ability to lead a team ;
- Strong leadership capabilities with a history of leading teams across multiple sites with cultural cohesion;
