Joining a medium size team within a busy production environment, you will be responsible for the supervision of 2 continuous production lines and reporting to the Operations Manager. Scope The successful candidate will demonstrate previous experience leading a team in manufacturing, though what is at the forefront, is your ability to do so meticulously, safely and efficiently - with a bit of spunk!
In addition to a friendly and positive disposition coupled with the ability to think laterally when faced with challenges, your referees will attest to your unwavering commitment to upholding the safety of yourself and others, your reliability, and innate can do attitude. Maintaining a strong presence on the floor, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leadership, mentorship and daily guidance to production employees;
- Fostering structure and organisation on the floor;
- Promotion of quality control, efficiency and driving continuous improvement strategies for efficiencies;
- Setting the standards to reach production goals, ensuring full understanding of relevant product specifications and customer requirements;
- Contributing to production planning and ensuring orders are met efficiently and on time;
- Thorough understanding of raw material, labour and packaging costs to ensure production outcomes are delivered in accordance with budget;
- Ensuring daily set up and preventative maintenance is carried out;
- Performing pre-operation activities and guiding production teams through production cycles;
- Mitigating waste opportunities and down time.
Success Profile
Critical
- Hold a current Forklift license
- Experience in LEAN manufacturing
- Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of production procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with team members
