A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join an industry-leading manufacturer in Melbourne's northern suburbs. This dynamic role is pivotal to the organisation, handling procurement, inbound logistics, warehousing, and materials planning to satisfy external and internal stakeholders.
The successful applicant will lead a team of two (Direct) and an Indirect team of eight and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain of this fast-growing organisation.
Innovation, Quality, and excellent customer service are USPs, and the supply chain function is crucial to achieving those points of difference. The Supply Chain lead will set strategies for achieving those objectives with a lean mindset while establishing a responsive supply chain model.
The Supply Chain lead will work very closely with the Manufacturing manager for day-to-day matters related to Warehousing and inbound logistics, reporting to the General manager for strategic procurement-related matters.
Key responsibilities include: - End-to-end responsibility for Supply Chain, including Procurement as well as inbound & logistics and warehousing, as well as Material planning and inventory controls
- Manage the procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and consumables. Achieving the highest level of service as per business strategy while maintaining a lean mindset across the supply chain function
- Handling small amounts of import orders (Inward goods and machinery), custom clearances and associated documentation
- Constant liaison with sales, production and customer service teams to ensure optimal inventory accuracy and customer service
- Key member of the S&OP process, attending the weekly meetings and liaising with all other areas in the business to achieve the business plans on time within the budgeted cost
- Work very closely with the NPD committee to develop new products, including the sourcing of reliable and quality ingredients for the new development and innovative concept
- With Hands-on experience with ERP systems, will be able to work on projects with IT/Finance to Generate and optimise the current reporting system for the best utilisation of assets and resources at optimum inventory levels to achieve world-class customer service
To be successful for this role, you will possess: - Food/FMCG manufacturing experience essential
- Purchasing and procurement experience essential.
- Exceptional communication and administrative skills.
- Highly organised - the ability to multitask and prioritise.
- Proactive, can-do attitude - inquisitive, adaptive and analytical.
- High level understanding/experience in warehouse management/inbound or outbound freight movement.
- Critical attention to detail.
- A strong leader with at least 5 years of team leadership experience.
