The Client
Privately Australian owned perishables focused forwarder with offices strategically stationed across the country, exporting goods all over the world from meat and dairy to frozen and live food products, as well as some general cargo for good measure. Situated in the busy forwarding hub of ‘Tullamarine, your role will be pivotal to the success of the clients supply chain and the companies bottom line. Hard work - High rewards, for those keen to get their hands dirty and on top of all health and safety documentations and tracking goods and trouble shooting from bookings to overseas delivery.
The Role
Reporting to the Export air or Sea Manager, your role will be to choose between Air or Sea Export Perishable operations. If you are strong in air and want to continue with air, your salary will reflect this. If you are strong in sea, but want to learn air (or visa versa), your salary will reflect on this training period and eventually get up to the $ that reflects your understanding of bo5th air and sea export perishables. Joining a team of 8 and an office of 25, your relationships between clients, warehouse staff, lines and carriers is essential and a keen eye for problem solving and time management/prioritisation is key.
Duties & Responsibilities - International routing and bookings for air or sea export movements
- Liaising with clients, carriers and lines on a daily basis
- Chasing complete documentation requirements for the goods being moved
- Uploading all data on the ERP for visibility throughout
- Build relationships and rapport as well as utilise negotiation skills
- Hands on approach from start to finish of every movement you create in the supply chain
Skills & Experience - Freight forwarding experience
- Perishables background in either Air or Sea Freight, advantageous
- Cargowise system exposure, desirable
- Hard working mindset and multi-tasking abilities
- Eager to develop on what you know, or learn another form of perishables
- Ability to run with a job from start to finish and make it your own
