The Client

Australian privately owned freight forwarder based north of the Sydney airport in an open plan modern office space, 7 staff and the perfect place for someone looking to be content with an operations all-rounder based autonomous role with no distractions of development into leadership roles, but with saying that, happy to be a developing ground for people who want to gather as much operations all round knowledge as they can for a few years before moving on. Very approachable management team who are there to assist, mentor and be there for you when you need them.

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager, your role will consist of all import sea freight responsibilities for your own list of client’s movements from all over the world into Melbourne.  International Customer Service bookings/routings, some quotations for ad hoc shipments, notifications to clients, chasing up documentation from overseas, cargo automation and domestic cartage.  End to end supply chain operations, just with an import sea freight focus. If you are an operator that loves your role but want something closer to home or close to the train station and happy doing import ops for the foreseeable future, this is the perfect opportunity.

Duties & Responsibilities

• International routing and bookings
• Invoicing
• Cargo automation
• Liaising with overseas agents and suppliers
• Domestic Cartage (FCL, LCL)
• Client contact daily for trouble shooting solutions

Skills & Experience

• Freight forwarding experience
• International logistical customer service, advantageous
• Domestic Cartage (FCL, LCL), advantageous
• The right mindset and attitude to get the job done
• Desire to either stay put in ops long term
