The Client

Privately owned Australian freight forwarder based in the busy hub of Tullamarine, in a newly fit out modern open plan office space with free parking and onsite café. Moving goods in and out of Melbourne all over the world, with a strong focus on import FCL and cargo of any kind, this company is going from strength to strength when it comes to the eclectic clientele list they have and places they move from over the globe. With a strong client focus in terms of contact, updates and staff interactions , it’s no wonder word of mouth clients keep coming onboard.

The Role

With a unique offering in the key account management field, your role will be to look after a list of clients movements, in a hands on capacity for all  routings and bookings from all parts of the globe, mainly import sea, but some air and limited exports, passing over to the data center for general operational duties, then back to you for the domestic cartage organisation.  One-part operations all-rounder, but without all the boring bits in between bookings overseas and bookings for domestic transport.  All while providing excellent supply chain solutions and ideas for your client’s unique movements.

Duties & Responsibilities

• International routing and bookings for FCL (some LCL & air)
• Ability to step into import/export operations on occasion
• Provide supply chain solutions and understanding of your clients supply chain
• Import/Export Operational duties on occasion
• Domestic cartage bookings, confirmations
• Client, carrier, supplier communication daily

Skills & Experience

• Freight forwarding experience
• International Logistics customer service and Incoterms exposure
• Cartage exposure, advantageous
• Cargowise system, desirable
• Import Export operations understanding/experience
• Time management and prioritisation confidence
